# Optimistic Storm: Kindle box set, process summary

## 1. Purpose

Bring the three Parts of Optimistic Storm into line before the Kindle box set: the KDP series page, the three book descriptions, and the three paperback covers (back cover text, titles, spine, author panel).

## 2. What was reviewed

- The live KDP series page (series description, reading order, book records).
- The three current cover PDFs and the three Photoshop (PSD) cover files.
- The project notes for the three volumes.

## 3. Process

1. **Read the live KDP series page.** Claude opened the series page in Chrome and copied the current series description and reading order.
2. **Drafted new copy.** New back covers for Parts 1 to 3, a new series description, and a KDP-safe HTML description for each book, all in one Google Doc, with the current text kept alongside for comparison.
3. **Listed the issues.** Nine points needing a decision (see section 4).
4. **Author decisions.** Hugh answered each point in writing; Claude applied them and produced "KDP FINAL copy v2".
5. **Checked the KDP publishing connector.** It adds a guide to the KDP workflow (audit, listing, cover, dashboard, pricing) but no direct controls, so browser steps stay in Chrome and every save is approved by Hugh.
6. **Inspected the three PSD covers.** All text is live (editable). Claude listed the changes needed per cover; Hugh made the edits, produced the PDFs and checked them.
7. **Series order on KDP** was corrected by Hugh (Parts 1, 2, 3 as Books 1, 2, 3).
8. **Final tasks** (section 7).

**Note:** the box set picture still shows the Part 1 cover with the old subtitle ("End the Fossil Fuel Era"). Replace it with a corrected picture if you have one: swap the media file on the site and edit the scheduled post in Metricool before 6:00 am.

## 8. Lessons and open items

**What worked**

- Let the AI read every live page and file first and list every inconsistency.
- Answer each question in writing before anything is changed.
- Keep the draft, the decisions and the final copy in one place.
- Make AI-written changes in new files, never over the originals.

**Open items for the next edition**

- Source the key figures (cars, robots, 800 million, 28 countries, 1,000 animals).
- Dated phrases to revisit: "Seventy years after the first practical solar panel", "within a decade", "within two decades".
- KDP book-record titles in lower case should match the locked titles.
- Decide whether "EDITION 2" should appear on all three covers.
