Climate Change Costing NSW

New UNSW research included in the NSW Net Zero Commission report estimates that current global warming levels of approximately 1.35°C have already caused median economic losses of around 18% for NSW residents, equating to roughly $21,300 less per person annually.

The research indicates that disruptions to global trade and supply chains, rather than local weather events such as bushfires or floods, are the primary driver of these economic losses.

Million Kilometre Battery

BYD’s Blade Battery 2.0 is a game-changer, offering a million-kilometer lifespan and 1,000 km range. With “Flash Charging” adding 400 km in just five minutes, the traditional advantages of petrol engines have vanished. As BYD supplies this tech to Tesla and Toyota, the shift from internal combustion to ultra-durable, rapid-charging EVs has become inevitable.

97% or 100% for Net Zero

Wartsilar, better known for shipping engines in their modelling says 98% net zero by 2050 is cheaper than 100% WWS by Prof Jacobson. Meanwhile 100% is possible says Prof Mark Jacobson.
RethinkiX says Stellar enegy – 500% is most cost effective for superabundant energy.
Wartsilar fails the fossil fuel argument and keeps about 12,000 TWh of generation in the mix – albeit for just 3% of the electricity generation. The world demands 100% zero emissions, not net zero.
