Buy Optimistic Storm Directly

Buy Optimistic Storm books and lose the despondency about climate change and our future. We live in the best part of human civilization but we need to do better.

Let me introduce myself – Dr Hugh Butler.

I had to break the book into two parts because there is so much optimism. This first part is about renewable energy and how we can stop the emissions that cause climate change. The second about other human ingenuity making our futures healthy, wealthy and wise.

These two books are about us—our children and our grandchildren. We can become very despondent about climate change and our future.

Part 1. End of Fossil Fuel Era

We’ve failed to accept the terrifying consequences of climate change for fellow citizens, young and old, rich and poor. Experts say we face a global recession comparable to the Great Depression of 1929, but forever.

Asking the wealthy to change and experience austerity is naive. Focusing on doom and gloom will not lead to a change.

Part 2. Food to Feed All, Health for All, Restore our Environment and End Drudgery

Part 2 focuses more on the ingenuity and opportunities that innovation creates. We will have better health for all. Food and agriculture will be unlike what we have today. We will have robotics, and artificial intelligence that will spell the end to dirty, dangerous jobs and drudgery.

Let’s be optimistic. We have a future of prosperity and sustainability—it’s ours to take. There will be bumps along the way, but that’s normal.

A Word Of Warning

Explaining this isn’t very easy. It is a bit like going to a doctor. He or she does not see you as a stick figure. No, the doctor is well aware you have 30 billion cells and 40 billion microbiota, and they are all connected as a system.

Simple solutions don’t work. We will explore that in more detail in the disruption section. So too, technologies, ideas and chapters are interconnected to multiple chapters.

The end of the fossil fuel era is mostly about renewable energy, batteries and transportation but AI, climate change and resource usage have to be part of the discussion . Electricity is core to this discussion, as for the first time since humans walked on the earth, we no longer need to burn rocks.

The glossary, copyright, dedications and sections are at the end of the book. Dive right in.
